Project overview.

Hiive needed a communications function. They had a pre-IPO story to tell, a CEO with a center stage appearance at Web Summit on the calendar, and no infrastructure to support any of it. I had 90 days to build everything from scratch — earned media, executive voice, social and content operation, and the systems to sustain it all.

Challenge.

Stand up a full communications function at a pre-IPO company building its public presence for the first time — establishing the brand voice, journalist relationships, content engine, and operational infrastructure — while simultaneously preparing the CEO for one of the company's highest-visibility public moments.

Result.

Built 11 journalist relationships across Bloomberg, WSJ, Forbes, Reuters, and Axios Pro in 90 days. Stood up the complete communications function: earned media program, executive communications for the CEO, structured social and content operation, and the infrastructure to run it. The content program launched with real traction — hundreds of thousands of impressions in the first 90 days, CEO engagement running more than double the B2B benchmark, follower growth that outpaced every direct competitor. Prepared the CEO for a center stage appearance at Web Summit Vancouver.
